How does it work?
1. Select a piece of jewelry for donation
2. Have an Appraisal
3. We sell your jewelry
4. A donation is made to your favorite charity
1. Lets say you have a piece of jewelry that you haven't worn since your grandmother gave it to you...back in the 60's. You have a burning desire to help your favorite charity. You think this particular piece of jewelry is worth $10,000 or more, but you
would never get that if you tried to sell it yourself, and besides you know nothing about selling jewelry. The Jewels for Charity program is your answer.
2. We help you select an independent qualified jewelry appraiser. If the fair market value is $10,000 or more, it is then accepted by the Kazanjian Foundation for donation. Appropriate government forms for accepting the donation, and tax filing are completed.
3. The jewelry then gets posted on our website and will tour the United States with the Kazanjian Foundation Museum Collection for educational purposes and eventual sale. Upon the sale of the piece, 100% of the funds are distributed to the appropriate charities. 70% of the sale of the item goes to your charity, while 30% will go to the charity of the hosting venues choice. If those charities happen to be one in the same, then 100% will go to that charity.
4. A generous donation has just been made to your charity. You feel good about helping an organization that you wholeheartedly believe in, and in addition you receive a healthy tax deduction - all for a piece of jewelry that might have never again seen the light of day. You are the hero.
